- Camels are pregnant for 12-14 months
- Baby camels are born without humps
- They can run within a few hours and make a very loud ‘baa’ sound
- Baby camels born with open eyes and also have a thick coat of fur
- The newborn calf is able to walk within 30 minutes, though the two won't rejoin the herd until around two weeks later
- Camel twins are extremely rare (1 in 10 million chance)
- Mother and child camel pairings are extremely close, staying together for several years
- A camel becomes sexually mature at the age of 2 to 3 years, however, do not give birth before the age of 5
- Calves are fed by the mother milk for about 1 year
